I am in Washington, D.C. today primarily to do some interviews. But being a sucker for a good public readiness event, I dropped by a preparedness fair being organized by the District’s Homeland Security Emergency Management Agency in Farragut Square near the White House. I picked up some interesting and creative promotional preparedness items including a “Top Ten Things Needed For An Emergency” t-shirt (see photos below) as well as a Be Ready DC mini first aid kit and a magnetic emergency contact dry erase board.
