A Citizen’s Eye View of Public Preparedness

Lee Hamilton (Co-Chair, “9/11 Commission”) — “What Should We Tell The Public?”/National Preparedness Month

September 24th, 2008 · 1 Comment

I am honored to be able to include Lee Hamilton in the “What Should We Tell The Public?” series. Former Congressman Hamilton (D-Indiana), the Co-Chair of the “9-11 Commission”, is currently the President and Director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center For Scholars in Washington, D.C..

In this video, Mr. Hamilton emphasizes the importance of the public in their own homeland security. In fact, he argues that while the federal, state and local governments have a role, homeland security is principally the responsibility of citizens who know their communities best.
