Emergency Management Blogger Takes Port Of Tacoma Security Post

Bad news for the emergency management blogosphere is good news for the people of the Northwest and the nation. Eric Holderman, who created the excellent blog, Disaster Zone, has taken the job of Security Director for the Port of Tacoma, Washington.  

Eric is the former Emergency Preparedness Director of Washington’s King County. He was one of the country’s most innovative and charismatic emergency management officials, particularly in the area of public preparedness, before joining the consulting firm ICF International and starting Disaster-Zone. In the blog, as he did at King County, Eric provided informative, interesting and accessible analysis for both the trade, and, most importantly for this blog, the general public. In his most recent post, Holderman wrote that “that ICF is in negotiations with another organization to explore ways to keep Disaster-Zone alive and functioning as a blog.
