On Thursday, I will be interviewing Michael Sheehan, the author of a very interesting new book, Crush The Cell: How To Defeat Terrorism Without Terrorizing Ourselves (Crown) In the book, Sheehan tries to help the public (as well as elected officials and the media) put terrorism in perspective. “I want the people to understand what the real threat is,” he told Newsweek’s Chris Dickey, “and what’s a bunch of bull.”Â
Sheehan’s distinguished career includes postings as the Ambassador-at-Large for Counter Terrorism at the U.S. State Department as well as the New York Police Department’s Deputy Commissioner for Counter Terrorism following the 9/11 attacks. So, he should be a terrific person to speak to about citizen preparedness.
If you have a question you would like me to ask him, please send it to me at jsolomon@incaseofemergencyblog.com. I’ll put the answers on the blog.
