A Citizen’s Eye View of Public Preparedness

Interview on “Brian Lehrer Show” on WNYC — “Are You Ready” Series

April 11th, 2008 · No Comments

Yesterday’s installment of this month’s ”Are You Ready” series I am doing on WNYC’s “Brian Lehrer Show” is now on the WNYC website

As part of the Flickr photo project the show is conducting, below is a photo of the ’comfort items’ from my family’s ‘Go-Bags’. We are asking listeners to post a picture of the ‘comfort items’ — things that are not essential but would make life a little better if you needed to evacuate — they have already (or intend to) pack in their ‘Go-Bags’.

The bear and the ’lovey’ blanket were chosen by my daughters as their ‘comfort items’. The Ipod and the playing cards are mine and my wife’s. By the way, the cards originally belonged to my late grandfather, Sidney. The inscription on each card says “Make checks payable to Sid Solomon.”

As usual, I welcome any comments on the “Are You Ready” segment, the Flickr project or anything on citizen preparedness.
