With many parts of the country suffering from extreme weather emergencies, David Stephenson, the guru of Preparedness 2.0, among other things, has reposted his ’21st Century Disaster Tips You Won’t Get From Officials’ and a video version via You Tube on his blog, stephensonstrategies.com. They are well worth reading and watching. The tips focus on the:
“…smart use of personal communication devices, especially in conjunction with Web 2.0-based mobile social networked applications such as Twitter and Flickr, can and will save lives and empower the general public to play a substantive role in disaster preparation and response.”
Thanks in part to Stephenson’s writings and work on the subject, I am more optimistic than ever that soon you will increasingly begin getting these types of Preparedness 2.0 tips from officials. Â
