It has been my experience -- and it seems to coincide with some stats that I've read -- that teens don't really know that much about "social" media. They simply use the tools in front of them to say what they want to say. It's not that they're experts. They're simply end-users. It seems they aren't as engaged in it as much as we perceive. They are, however, experts at manipulating their qwerty and touchscreen keyboards for SMS texts! I'm not knocking this initiative at all. I'm actually very interested in it and hope that it helps all of us move forward to better disseminate information when and how needed. I’ll be curious to see how this pans out.
